1) Terminator 2- Judgement DayThe sequel to the legendary first instalment, T2 was a massively influential movie in the action and science fiction genres. Notably, it featured one of the first realistic human motion CGI characters, and produced some of the most memorable lines in recent years, including "i'll be back", and "Hasta la vista, baby". |
Predator first hit the cinema screens in 1987, and featured Arnie as "Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer" who is ordered to lead a special task force into a Guatemalan jungle in order to rescue a kidnapped presidential cabinet minister. But as you all know, what lay in waiting for them is much more frightening than guerilla terrorists...... |
Commando has become an iconic movie, and helped cement Arnie into his current stereotypical image of the cheesy all action hero. This film is obviously not to be taken to seriously, but provides a lot of light hearted fun, funny jokes and some hardcore action sequences and explosions. |
Nope, there are no futuristic cyborgs from the future, no pregnant men, and no alien predators..... there is only Turboman! Which Arnie must buy the action figure of in time for Christmas. But being the great guy he is, Arnie decides to become Turboman himself. |
Arnie was paid a handsome $25 million for his appearance in this movie. I think this may have been well deserved considering his make-up and costume application could take up to six hours each day to complete! The character of Mr.Freeze first appeared in Batman #121 in 1959, he must wear a cryogenic suit to keep him frozen in order to stay alive. |
This is one of Arnie's earlier movies, and arguably the one that provided a major breakthrough in his career as an actor, which generated the reputation and contacts to appear in The Terminator and Commando movies a couple of years afterwards. The movie is pretty dated now, and is in a similar ballpark to Hercules in New York in terms of storyline, narrative and special effects. But even so its a classic. |
Okay, so Arnie wasn't physically in the movie, and the voice used was a sound a like, but never-the-less I feel it deserves to be in this poll as the franchise and institution that Arnie is starred in it for a few brief seconds. The decision to use a Hummer is the perfect stereotype for Arnie too, and was a little bit ironic seeing as he actually owned one, and yet was also leading a massive campaign for green living at the same time. |
Fortunately as a pregnant man, Arnie and Danny DeVito did not attempt a natural birth at the end of this movie as I should image that would probably be the most painful experience a man could ever endure. |
"I am Hercules!" Arnold's real voice - Genius. You can see his future political skills emerging here with his great body language and linguistic skills. Is it worth mentioning the storyline? Surely that is completely missing the point of the awesomeness that is Hercules in New York! "I am having to much fun." |
This is Arnie's classic action-comedy movie that has a satirical approach to the genre of action movies and their famous and unrealistic clichés. It is not to be taken to seriously as essentially it is making fun of the genre, and even Arnie himself in earlier movie appearances. This is classic Arnold Schwarzenegger. |
